Families can apply for space available transfers to Aldine ISD.
Through space-available transfers, a set number of students residing in school districts other than Aldine can attend select AISD campuses for the 2018-2019 school year. Enrollment is limited to where space is available at select schools.
The space-available transfer initiative is available to students in prekindergarten through 12th grade. Families can apply by visiting the District’s website (Click here.).
The public student transfer webpage also includes information about Public Education Grant (PEG) and intra-District transfers.
Again, out-of-district students may be placed at an AISD campus this fall through the space-available initiative. Transfers approved on a space-available basis shall be granted for one regular school year at a time, on a tuition-free basis.
This initiative excludes magnet schools, International Baccalaureate (IB®) schools, Victory Early College High School, and campuses with a high enrollment.
Please be aware that students that attended AISD as part of its space-available initiative during the 2017-18 school year must reapply for 2018-2019.
Parents will receive notification via email regarding their child’s acceptance or non-acceptance into AISD within two weeks of the District receiving a completed application (click here).
Ken Knippel, assistant superintendent for administration, encourages interested families to contact Elsa Cardenas with the Safe and Secure Schools Department at (281) 985-7184 as soon as possible to learn more about the application process and potential placement.
