Davis High School teacher Chelsea Davis-Bibb has been selected as a finalist in the Region 4 Teacher of the Year program competition. Davis-Bibb is a dual credit English teacher.
Top regional winners will be named publicly Aug. 1 during the annual dinner and reception for Teachers of the Year sponsored by the Region 4 Education Service Center (ESC), which serves a seven-county area that includes 50 public school districts.
Davis-Bibb was named earlier as the District Secondary Teacher of the Year during the annual AISD recognition event held in the spring.
The English teacher said she tailors her teaching to reach each and every student she comes in contact with on a daily basis.
“One of the leading principles that guides my career is that all students can learn,” she Davis-Bibb. “With this in mind, I base my instruction on the needs of my students. I believe that students learn through experience. Therefore, my delivery of teaching is through a lot of group work and collaborative learning.”
The annual Region 4 Teachers of the Year event is part of the Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA) Texas Teacher of the Year program, the next level of competition. Texas Teachers of the Year may go on to compete at the national level.
