The District’s Financial Services Department, received the Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) International Certificate of Excellence Award in Financial Reporting. The award represents a significant achievement by the entity, according to information provided by ASBO International. In order to receive the Certificate of Excellence award, Aldine ISD had to meet or exceed the program’s high standards for financial reporting and accountability.
In addition to the ASBO International Certificate of Excellence Award, the District received the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. The award represents a significant achievement. The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving nearly 18,000 government finance professionals throughout North America.
Dr. Tamika Alford-Stephens, assistant superintendent of finance is proud of her team. Alford-Stephens stated the certificates are the highest form of recognition. They represent a significant accomplishment by a governmental agency and its management.
“The certificates recognize our commitment to being trustworthy stewards of taxpayer dollars and to effectively allocating educational resources to support student success,” said Alford-Stephens.
