District leaders invite everyone to attend the Annual AISD Livestock Show and Auction. The 2018 event is set for Jan. 29 through Feb. 2 at the M.O. Campbell Educational Center (1865 Aldine Bender Road).
High school students will exhibit a variety of livestock including steers, horses, sheep, goats, poultry and swine. They will also be exhibiting non-livestock projects such as agricultural mechanics and western-themed art. Students dedicate many hours each year to select, care for and develop their projects.
“The show gives students the opportunity to learn responsibility and showmanship,” Franklin Higgins, director of career and technical education, said. “They have earned a chance to compete for funds for financing future projects and post-secondary education.”
