Aldine ISD will hold a trustee’s election on Tuesday, November 7 for Positions 3, 4 and 5. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. on November 7.
Rose Avalos holds the Position 3 seat and is running unopposed. Ms. Avalos is a retired educator and has resided in the Aldine community since she was two months of age.
Steve Mead holds the Position 5 seat and is running unopposed. Mr. Mead, owner of Component Sales and Service, has resided in the Aldine community for more than 50 years.
Connie Esparza holds the Position 4 seat and is being opposed by Barry Ward, II. Ms. Esparza, a retired educator, has resided in the Aldine community for 37 years. Mr. Ward, a college professor, has resided in the Aldine community for 37 years.
At the September 19 Board meeting, Aldine ISD Trustees approved canceling the special election for the Position 6 seat because Dr. Kimberley Booker is running unopposed for the seat. Dr. Booker is elected to the Position 6 seat. Dr. Booker was appointed to the Position 6 seat in February 2017 to fill the unexpired term of former Trustee Merlin Griggs.
Early voting begins Monday, October 23 and concludes on Friday, November 3. Early voting and polling information can be found at www.harrisvotes.com.
