Aldine ISD has a board comprised of seven members: Dr. Viola M. García, Rose Ávalos, Steve Mead, Paul Shanklin, Patricia Ann Bourgeois, Conception “Connie” Esparza and Dr. Kimberly Booker. These representatives are elected every four years.
Trustees are outstanding volunteers. They provide a passionate voice of advocacy for public schools. Board members bear great responsibility as they oversee the welfare of school children.
School boards play an important role in local education systems. Trustees have many duties. For example they make policy, approve contracts with employees, and they choose curriculum as well as adopt budgets. They also work with what the state and federal governments demand of public school systems.
AISD Trustees work closely with parents, education professionals and community members. They are dedicated individuals committed to the continuing success of our schools and students.
Below are a few images of Trustees during the 2016-2017 school year.
