The M.O. Campbell Educational Center will host a Family Engagement Expo on Saturday, Aug. 5. The event is a partnership between Aldine ISD, U.S. Congressman Gene Green and BakerRipley.
The event will run from 8 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
Free immunizations will be provided for the first 100 attendees. Additionally, free health screenings will also be available.
A number of workshops are scheduled for the Expo. Workshops offered will be:
• Getting Connected With Aldine’s Digital Resources
• Parenting in the 21st Century
• How to Raise ThinkUP Leaders
• Raising Readers
• Career & College Readiness
• Drug & Alcohol Awareness
• Understanding Intermediate School Math
• What Parents Need to Know About Dyslexia
In addition to the workshops, a number of exhibitors will be on hand to provide information to the public. Scheduled to appear are the Houston Public Library and Harris County Public Library, Metro, Texas Children’s Health Plan, Workforce Solutions, BakerRipley, Communities in Schools, YMCA Aldine-Greenspoint, Lone Star College-North Harris and Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.
Free books will also be available (while supplies last) for Aldine ISD families to add to their home libraries.
