The Davis High Falcons won the Cleveland Rotary Baseball Tournament by sweeping all four games it played. The Falcons, under the direction of head coach Brett Cleveland, opened the tournament with a 12-1 win over LCM, them followed with a 16-6 thumping of Tarkington. Davis defeated Shepherd 5-4 to advance to the championship game, where the Falcons defeated New Waverly 5-2. Miguel Martinez Jr. was named the tournament’s MVP. The third baseman/pitcher batted .625 in the tournament and had eight RBIs and picked up a win on the mound. Falcons named to the All-Tournament team were Victor Cruz, Johnny Molina, Luis Castillo, Fabian Chapa and Stephen Hunt. Other team members pictured here are Andres Cruz, Dontre Simon, Brooklyn Portillo, Stephen Hunt, Kevin Sibrian, Adrian Gonzalez, Jose Herrera, Ja’fahri Magee, Ulises Ojeda, Gabriel Garcia, Martin Pena, Marc Aguilar, Hector Garza and Samuel Perez. The four wins at the Cleveland tournament improved the Falcons’ season record to 9-1.
