This year, the Aldine ISD Board of Education and the Superintendent of Schools have launched a new strategic planning initiative.
As District leaders begin discussions, they seek to engage the community. Everyone who takes part will help conceive fresh ideas. They will develop a strategic plan to chart the course for the school district over the next five years.
A Design Team is charged with designing and developing a strategic plan for AISD schools. The team of 30-40 people will revamp the vision for the District. Members will identify goals District leaders should focus on for the next five years.
The survey will inform the Design Team. This will be an opportunity for everyone in our community, including students, to share what they perceive the needs of the District. The survey will serve as way for them to share their dreams and hopes for change.
The online survey will be open to all beginning February 27 and will run through March 20. Links to the survey (English Survey and Spanish Survey) will be posted on the District website and social media starting Feb. 27. Individuals who take part in the survey, can enter to have a chance to win a Google Chromebook.
The results of the survey will be available on the District website once they become available.
Superintendent Dr. Wanda Bamberg hopes everyone who is interested takes part in the initiative.
“There is great excitement among everyone in the District,” said Bamberg. “We are ready to redesign for the future. The strategic direction will also serve as the guide to implement plans. If approved, one of those plans will be the District of Innovation.
“Our Design Team will represent all AISD stakeholders. It will consist of parents, students, teachers, administrators, Board members and community leaders.
“I encourage everyone to take the survey. We need your help to identify creative, innovative goals necessary to write the story of Aldine’s future. We must see what is working and what is not. And we must have the creativity to see the possibilities to serve the needs of every child. We want to ensure we continue to prepare students for career and college. We want our students to make a difference here in Aldine and wherever their future leads them.”
